Batman: The Video Game has you playing as Batman as you fight through various stages taken from the Batman movie released in 1989. Batman can pick up weapon upgrades and additional shields that rotate around him. The controls are spot on and the platforming never felt frustrating to me. I did however find the weapon downgrades to be annoying. Bosses take a lot of hits and there's no indicator on their health. If you go into the boss battle with the wrong weapon, you might as well restart. The shoot'em up levels are a nice addition. It doesn't really feel like a Batman game with all of the shooting but it's still a lot of fun.
