8Puyo Puyo is a competitive match four puzzle game where you fight against the CPU or another human. A story mode has you competing against 12 different opponents that behave differently. Make chains to launch Ojama Puyo at your opponent in order to make it more difficult to compete. The difficulty in this game ramps up quickly with little time to move once a piece has landed. Once you fall behind, it's hard to catch up. This is less casual than other puzzle games but the addictive gameplay kept me coming back. It's not an easy game and often required retrying a level. Getting a combo that triggers four or five times does feel amazing.
