9In Gokujō Parodius you pilot your ship through seven levels in a Gradius style shoot'em up. The ships are modeled after other Konami games including Gradius, Twin Bee, Kid Dracula, Goemon, and Upa. The game has fun colorful visuals and eleven ships with unique upgrades chosen in the usual Gradius style. This is a great mix of unique characters, upgrades, and levels worth putting up with terrible slowdown. It does have the common problem of dying resulting in making the level significantly more difficult without powerups. Avoid the revive option as it makes that problem worse.
