4In Umihara Kawase you use your fish hook to traverse 49 levels as you grapple, swing and climb onto platforms. You also use your hook to defend yourself from the various fish as you progress through the stages. The main character is nicely animated and it has an innovative use of physics not often seen in a game of this era. Unfortunately this game has bland visuals, absolutely hideous backgrounds, and frustrating random enemy pop-in. The cute main character and interesting premise aren't enough to make it worth playing.
